I had this amazing experience nearly ten years ago. Slash was at a guitar clinic in my hometown, Nashville, and I got the chance to meet him. I’m a huge fan of both Gibson guitars and Slash, so I brought my 2015 Gibson Les Paul Standard hoping he’d sign it.
I got there early, holding my guitar like it was the most important thing in the world. When it was finally my turn to meet him, he looked at my guitar and said, “Oh wow, is that a triple AAA+ top on this thing?!” Then he signed it right across the body, adding his AFD skull. I was in shock—it all happened so fast!
I took a quick photo recently to show it off. It’s probably the best day of my life. Anyone else have stories like this?

He signed my arm back in 1987! He also called my brother an idiot. Just don’t take your guitar into the shower, or you might lose the signature.
He signed my… well, let’s just say it wasn’t a guitar in 1989. He also called me ‘brother’ while laughing.
You should make sure there’s a finish over the signature to protect it! Signed guitars can be tricky. Not saying this Les Paul isn’t special, but usually, signing a guitar makes it more of a display piece than one you’d play.
Sometimes the guitar itself is worth more than the signature, and adding a signature can actually lower its value. But in this case, I think you’ve got a perfect match. If you have photos or other proof of the event, it’ll make it even more special!
