A few weeks ago, I came across a post where people were talking about how playing guitar has positively impacted their lives. I left a comment about how I often send recordings of myself playing guitar to a friend, and I thought I’d dive a little deeper into that here.
I’ve been playing for just over a year now, and I’ve gotten fairly comfortable with it. My friend always listens to the clips I send and even saves them to play while she’s sleeping her words, not mine! She’s always so grateful and gives me encouraging feedback, especially since I usually play fingerstyle. As cheesy as it sounds, she’s my biggest fan, and this has actually brought us closer.
That’s awesome! It’s cool when someone appreciates your playing like that. My brother’s the same way he’s always asking me to play when we hang out. Definitely boosts my confidence!
I totally get that! I have a friend who listens to everything I play too. It’s like having your own personal fan club. Makes practicing more fun when you know someone’s waiting to hear it.
Man, I wish! I’ve been playing for a while, but no one really seems interested when I share stuff. You’re lucky to have someone who genuinely enjoys your music!
I don’t send clips, but my partner always listens when I’m noodling around on the guitar. They’re super supportive, even when I think I’m playing terribly. It’s nice to have that kind of encouragement.
That’s so sweet! Having someone who saves your recordings must be a great feeling. My roommate always bugs me to play more often, so I guess I have a fan too!
