This is exactly the kind of wild project I love seeing. Great job!
Looks awesome. Nice work!
This is such a cool idea, and it came out great. Did you drill through the Tele bridge plate to fit the Mustang bridge? Seems like a creative fix if that’s the case!
Also, what’s the deal with the overlapping string trees? If they ever give you trouble, you might want to try something like Reverend’s 3-string tree: https://reverendguitars.com/store/triple-tree/
@Kendall
Yeah, I left the original string tree hole when working on the headstock, not really thinking ahead. It ended up in that awkward spot, but I figured why not—now that string isn’t going anywhere! Definitely has that ‘trees on trees’ vibe.
For the bridge, that’s exactly what I did. I realized Tele saddles couldn’t stretch 3/4”, so I went through Fender’s parts catalog to find an alternative that wasn’t a Gibson-style TOM bridge.
Is that other guitar the Joe Duplantier signature model?

Yeah, it is. I customized it by cutting a new guard and routing a pocket so the selector switch is on top, like a Deluxe Tele.
Any chance we can hear what it sounds like?
Are both of them baritones?

Nope, only one is. But I made sure the overall lengths were close. The Joe Duplantier guitar is about 38.5” overall, and this one is 39.5”.
I wanted to make this one feel compact, so I shifted the bridge and brought the neck deeper into the body by a couple of inches. It avoids that broomstick-on-a-Tele-body look.
