Did I mess up my guitar by bringing it in from the cold?

I just got a Squier CV Strat delivered today. It was about 25°F outside, and I opened the box as soon as I brought it in (it didn’t have a case, just cardboard). I might be overthinking it, but is the neck going to get damaged or warped?

It should be fine as long as you don’t bring it in from the cold and immediately put it next to a radiator or something. I usually leave mine to adjust to room temperature for about an hour or two if the difference in temperatures is big.

For electric guitars, the most common issue with rapid heating or cooling is finish checkering, but that’s really only common with nitrocellulose finishes. Since your guitar has a polyurethane finish, it shouldn’t be an issue. I doubt the neck would be affected either.

It’s very unlikely that you’ll damage it. But you might need to give it a good setup to make sure everything’s perfect.
