I want to swap out my guitar pickups and install EMG solderless pickups. I don’t have a soldering iron to remove the old pickups, so I was thinking about just cutting the wires. Will I still be able to use the old pickups in the future if I cut them? Thanks for the help.
Yes, you can. Just cut the wires at the potentiometer instead of right at the pickup. This way, if you want to use them again later, you can strip the end of the wire and solder it back.

Got it, thanks for the advice!
Make sure to cut the wire at the back of the pot or switch, leaving as much cable as possible. Don’t cut too close to the pickup itself. Later on, you can strip the wire to reuse it.

Thank you for the tip!
Double-check your volume pots before installing EMGs. They might not have enough resistance for those pickups. This happened to me, and I had to get mine professionally fixed after messing it up.
